Hi i have just recently started creating a new server and have never even thought of doing so before. I have been at it for a week now and am starting to get the 'hang' of it (kinda). I am still Confussed on alot of things such as permissions. But my main concern right now is that for some reason on my server you cannot hit each other with melee weapons but for some reason are allowed to hit each other with smites and bows and even potions do not work. This confussed me most when i went to check thinking that i didnt have one of the pvp settings turned on but i have them enable ... i have it enable in the Server properties i have it enabled under the factions folder conf also. I am really confussed and i am not sure what could be causing this. These are the list of Plugins i have, Acceptrules ChestShop EpicZones Essentials EssentialsGeoIP EssentialsGroupBridge EssentialsGroupManager EseentialsXMPP (I removed) EssentialsProtect (Deleted because pvp was broken and thought it was cause) EssentialsSpawn Factions Herochat Iconomy Jobs Lockette PermissionsHelper SignRank SimplesignEdit TravelPortals Worldedit Worldguard And then some random files that i have no clue of where they came from PluginStats PluginMetrics I have gone through trial and error of everything with turning god mod off turning op off demoting and all that. I have no regions set up other than some from Epiczones which i was testing pvp outside of the zones. I would be very appreciative if someone could help me with this problem, it is rather annoying and is honestly ... making me really mad. Other then that i am looking for some people to help me run my server and you guys can see i need the help. So if your interested Yeah ... Anyways TY in advance!
Try removing all plugins and running 'vanilla bukkit'. If the issue persists, it might be a bad download/build.
Do i have to DELETE all my plugins or can i just move all the folders and .jar files to another folder and then run vanilla and if it works put them back ? With that being said im gonna go ahead and say if tjhe problem goes away on vanilla and then come back when i put the files back in it is clearly one of the plugins correct?
Yea, you can just move or rename the plugins folder. And if the issue goes away when you do so, it is most definitely a plugin issue.
