    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Officially? probably never unless DThielke really has the free time. We'll keep pushing fixes when we can.
Prefix/suffix stuff is no longer being handled by Herochat 5.0

    ray0911

Does this mean there is an other plugin that will work with herochat to add prefix/suffix??

Bperms can do prefixes - I hear.

  9. Yep, does them very well.

Ok, HC taking over my /help is driving me crazy... I love the way Essentials does /help, so can I disable the "/qm" help in HC? I've already put "- help" in the Essentials config also (which should override any other plugins command.)

is there a permission for prefix and suffix?

Add a title for any permission node
    eg. permissions.yml:
    herochat.prefix.Mod
    herochat.suffix.Mod

and in the config you can set the permissions to a name
    eg. config.xml:
    herochat.prefix.Mod = 'Moderator'
    herochat.suffix.Mod = '&4'

here is a plugin who looks like the same http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/simple-prefix/

and i have a problem on my server
If i set up my channels with colores, it will become reset all time into withe, if i revoke the write rights on this files, it ignore the colore and write it white

And how i can disable this one?

    Thanks for this awsome plugin!
But, HeroChat crashed when im trying to:
    1. Change the nick of global channel (i dont like the g so much ;))
    2. Change the color (GREEN) into WHITE
    3. Upload to my root server and do /ch reload
When i enter then /plugins , HeroChat is red (crashed-color) and i cant using any commands!
When i dont take ANY changes, HeroChat works, but i have a really - uhm...- professional server, so i have to changes that attributes...
Well, this is the first time my last solution is to ask the author...
If there are any guys, who have problems with ANY plugin (without herochat), please just ask me, i can help!

Hey Sorry if this question has been asked,
but i just need a simple way to make it so
    Admins have Red chat
    Moderators have pink chat
    Players have Grey And Ect.

I used to be using group manager, and then hooking it up to essentials Chat to change the color of the chat.

I really liked the [g] and local ideas, so i decided to install it, I thought it was just going to be simple and all i had to do was reload the server, and wallah.

But I just want a way to Configure different groups Chat Color.

    Thanks,

    Plugins im using
    GroupManager
    Eessentials
    HeroChat [Of course]

    ----
    What i want,
To easily Change chat color of groups, ive seen it on other servers
I know it can be done, but I dont know who to ask
    THANKS

    PMCrafter

uhm, did you read the fad red text there? you have to change the config.yml, then save it (or upload it on root server) and then enter ingame or in the server console /ch reload [world] without any restarts. Else , HC dont save your configurations and reset.

    group manager? oh...
well permissions is sometimes a little bit complicated BUT when you do all right, no plugins break.
group manager is a little bit more simple but not written for a little bit bigger server then those hamachi...
if you need help, just ask me please

Rename your help channel to something like HelpME.

Are you making sure to edit everything exactly? No extra spaces, characters, or tabs? I have had problems like this in the past because i was not paying attention and added an extra space or completely removed a space. Can you show us what your config looks like when you are getting these errors?

    thx for reply

just dont stop the server when you edit the configurations and make /ch reload [world] then HC dont have to break itself

Alright so I upgraded to 5.0 (B:14), generated a new config file and got it running smoothly. Problem was, nobody could speak in global.

Does anybody want to explain to me any changes in permissions in 5.0? (I use bPermissions, was working fine with the most recent 4.x build)

Also, is there a guide to the new configuration files? I looked for one on github and redmine.

oh, me and my co admin are still working on it with an plugin editor to remove that commands (you even can enter /ch mute)... when we finished i tell you so that you dont have any more of this commands (there even captured the /help command!!) but when you update it, it will be removed... i will update it on some website.

everytime when someone have problems with the most permissions plugins, they can call me because i am good in permsfixing... you can contact me if you want
permissions is a pig. you just need the right saddle.

its good to set a password , then you can join with the password in the join command...
i have had the same problem but this changings helped me
