I thought you might be interested in knowing what I've figured out.

Chatting with a server without a plugin is possible, I got very close, but username authentication really seals its practical fate. Should be possible on offline-mode servers, though.

This new version of BukkitConnect is a star network, and its actually really cool. No port forwarding required, the client is very lightweight and customizable, and the servers incredibly functional and customizable as well. This was the most fun plugin I've ever made, and it hardly does anything visible in-game

Is there any way to make this communicate directly from server to server? I.E. Linking My server to a Friend's? Without a server in the middle?

 

The problem is, there are no linux binaries...

 

Does it work with Hamachi to other servers?

Love the idea, but before I download, one two questions:

Is there some way to know what servers are using what ports? Or a way to associate a port with a specific server?

hmm. can we make portals from server to server? that would be good.
if so how do i do that?
if not could you try and make that possible.
also,when i installed it automatically got me into contact with a server.
(he claimed he knew the person who made this plugin)it is odd
also its annoying to see each others chat all the time!

Edit: i now have made a server on my computer so we can communicate without anyone hearing us exept the people on our servers.

no there is not, however you can very simply set up a server on your own computer.
i do not know if it works without hamatchi as the server is down (cos someones trying to take it over)

Edit: i will be getting another VPS soon. maybe i could put a server on it so your 2 servers can communicate?

also, you need a bukkitconnect server to talk with each other. not a minecraft one,
just makeing things clear.


this is a good plugin and i recommend it!

 

I figured out a way, back when CraftIRC was operational, to bounce messages off an IRC server to an unlimited amount of servers. But CraftIRC isnt updated now

 

just use the server tech they give u! i no longer need this plugin, and i cannot remember what the commands are!
however u must open the server on the CMD prompt. (its on port 8888) and then set config files to IP of computer or VPS or whatever the server is on. again, im talking about a bukkitconnect server, not a minecraft one.

the auto one gets u in contact with clinkz citybuild and maybe some others that pop on and off!

i will note that the servers VERY OFTEN lost connection, it can be a big problem.

anyone know how to fix it?
