Hi guys, Lately I'm having problems with my server, disconnecting the majority of the players (if not all) with an end of stream error. This can occur 2-20 times/day, and can get as often as 5 times / hour. This began happening since 1.0 (when we coincidentajlly also switched to a new map). My server is hosted in a datacenter, specs : core i7 2600k, 16gb ram, 40mbps SLA (up/down). When the "end of stream" occurs the users can't connect for ~10 seconds to the server. Most of the times, i have noticed that the users that get disconnected are from UK/Sweden (not sure if coincidence). Server Details: Hardware: Core i7 2600K, 16GB Ram, 40mbps down/up Software: CentOS5.6 x64, Java 1.7.0_02, Craftbukkit #1567, 50 or so plugins (yes, i know, that's a lot). Worlds: normal world, secondary world, nether Does this happen to anyone else ? Any idea as to what might be causing it ?
Make sure you have the latest recommended CraftBukkit. Also, do you know if the players getting this are experiencing it randomly, have they complained about it?
I do have the latest RB, and the players experiencing this, experience it all at the exact same time (basically the chat is getting spammed with leave messages).
It could be your world, if you have Multiverse or multiple worlds, does it still happen if you tell them to stay in a specific world besides the main one?
The players are all scattered, so they don't usually stay in a single world. Also, i'm not using MultiVerse, i'm using a custom plugin for multiworld. Also, i just noticed that "Read timed out" shows a couple of times before the end of streams occur. What exactly is "read timed out" ?
I rent a dedicated server from a datacenter. I have contacted my host about this issue but they are saying nothing seems to be wrong from their side..
Read timed out and end of stream both have to do with problems with the data stream and don't cause widespread problems most of the time. My only other recommendations would be to check with other users of your host, or try it with a new world.
