I would love to see a mod that canceled the effect beds have in the game. I run a survival server and would rather my players not be able to fast-forward through (arguably) the most dangerous part of the game (night). Could anyone make a simple plugin where you couldn't activate the bed, without blacklisting it? I just want it to be for looks-only. Thanks for any replies.
Are you aware that all players on the server must be simultaneously in a bed for the server to skip night?
Yes but I have, at the moment, a very small server So all players may be only 2 or 3. Or even 1 depending on the time of day.
Does it also set the spawn point to the bed, or is that disabled for smp? If it does, then fix that too
I second this request. I too have a small server, and I feel it pretty much cheating for the players who are online by themselves at night. It's just too easy!
ah but otherwise people could just stay in there house all night and that would be annoying in my survival server if everybody want to skip night they can because its just a waste of time staying in the house all night if they want to go out to fight zombies its up to them as the server host you need to think of what the users want if just do it your way they will get fed up and leave
The only people who have any say in what happens on the server is anyone who helps pay for it. Right now, that's me. And I want a Survival server where people can't skip surviving. I don't afk in my house at night. I do whatever I want. I kill zombies. I kill spiders. I don't let them tell me what to do like you apparently do lol
they dont tell me what to do unlike you i have selflessness and think about what the users want if you want a server thats just for you why let people in?
Does it really merit discussion on what your personal preference for a server should be? Kind of ridiculous to have this much bickering over something completely optional like this.
For those interested I've put together the basics for a plugin but I've run into an issue where onBlockInteract doesn't trigger on beds. http://leaky.bukkit.org/issues/499 --- merged: Feb 26, 2011 10:00 PM --- So @scient was kind enough to implement beds so they trigger with onBlockInteract but I've run into a snag client-wise. It is unaware that getting into bed can fail server-side so the client thinks its in bed and is trapped there until quitting Minecraft. I'll need to look into a way to hook the actual event that causes the time shift in order to make this work.
I just tested the beds on my multiplayer server, and it showed me a "get out of bed" button while I was "falling asleep". Do you think you could leverage whatever made that appear?
