Plugin category: PvP, Fix A bit about me: I run a moderately popular PvP server, with 30 - 60 players on at most times throughout the day. I would like to make a few changes to the PvP mechanics on our server, in order to make things more interesting. What I Want: There are two main mechanics I would like to change about our server. I'm not going to mention any specific names, but a server that was endorsed at minecon had this, but they're not willing to share it. Basically, I'm looking to have some sort of damage cooldown when using a sword. For example, if you keep wildly swinging your sword at something, the first hit will do lots of damage, but any subsequent hits will do very little. If you wait one second, it'll do more damage, if you wait 2 seconds, it'll do even more damage, and if you wait 3 seconds, it'll do the full (normal) damage. Another issue that I'm having is people logging out during (or before) a PvP encounter. I understand there is a plugin already created, AntiPvPLogout, however that plugin is poorly maintained, has not been updated for 1.0.0, and even before 1.0.0, it never functioned properly. If someone could make a replacement for this as well, I'll pay. Ideas For Commands: None needed really... Ideas for Permissions: None needed really... Whooo, $150 bucks for that little work. It's sad how the software developing industry screws people over so badly nowadays. If I have time tomorrow, I might even do that for free, depending on how much work it actually is, but sure not for such an amount of money. PM me if you're interested. Also it would help alot if you'd specify exactly how long the cooldown should take and how much the damage would therefore be reduced...
I don't think it's screwing people over at all. It takes a lot of time to learn a programming language, time I don't have, plus I think Java is a screwy language to begin with, so I don't think I ever would spend time to make myself familiar with it. I welcome your honesty, however this is what I'm willing to pay, for a stable, well optimized, working plugin(s). I haven't thought of any specific values for cooldown / damage etc... Would it be possible to make a linear function and then let me define the variables for it in a config, instead of hardcoding everything? For example, let me define the amount of time in seconds, and a minimum damage percentage which is right after the sword hit.
Sure, that would be fine. And thanks for the post, I have actually never looked at it that way. I will definitely finish the PvP plugin tomorrow, you can pay for that if you want, I'd rather understand it as a donation, but I don't expect anything. About the logout plugin... It's a little complicated, I've actually never looked into human npcs, though there's nothing you can't learn, so... I'll look into it, but that might take a bit longer than the other one.

That's kind of what I ment when I said, I'd look into it. I was taking a look at Citizen tho, so thanks for the advice.
I think I will start developing this one too (first request). In the end, more "competitors" tend to lead to a better end product. As for the payment, just choose the plugin most to your liking and pay or donate to that person.
Check out combat tag. Been out a while and I do maintain it. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/combat-tag/ Prevents players from logging out during combat.
While that is a great suggestion (I've seen it before), I'm looking for a plugin that basically the NPC gets spawned EVERY time the player logs out, not just after they've been hit. Often times, a player will be running towards another player, and he'll log before the attacker even gets a chance to hit.

I made the actual plugin you're talking about. " but they're not willing to share it." Umm... you never asked.
I read the paper, and it said that it was a plugin made just for that server, and I searched and could not find a public version anywhere.
