As an op on my server b1185 I get told I can't toggle anything when I try to toggle stuff. Im using permissions 2.7.x users with vanish.standard can use /vanish as well as I but as an admin with - '*' and op status I cannot toggle options on this.

Also suggestion, can you add a /vanish list?

Download PermTest and say /permtest vanish.toggle.nopickup

If it says you don't have permission you need to fix your permissions setup.

I may create a /vanish list command for those with vanish.see

    Hey, great plug-in!

Though, I'm experiencing an issue. I have the vanish plugin and the spout one aswell. Everything has updated, but I'm having one issue... All commands seem to work for me, but not for my moderator (who I gave vanish.standard in PEX).

What information could I provide you with so that you could help me figure out this mess?

    Thank you!

@BadBullit That's a bit odd. Try installing PermTest and having the moderator say /permtest vanish.vanish

If it says he doesn't have it, then it's a PEX setup issue. If it says he has it, and /vanish doesn't work, then I'll take out my code hammer and work to find out what's up.

(PermTest is just a plugin that lets you test any permission with /permtest permission)

    Hey i'm running;
    CraftBukkit RB #1185
    VanishNoPacket V1.6.5
    Spout #1.0.6 Build: 381
    and PermissionsEx v1.14.

The problem is, when either me or my admins use /vanish to either disappear or reappear, the message '[PLAYERNAME] has become visible' is broadcast to all of my groups, i tested this myself by demoting myself to the lowest rank, and removed OP status from myself also, but the message was still shown to me.
Me and my admins have all permissions based on your plugin, whereas the lower groups have none of them.
This of course defeats the point of the plugin, is there something i have missed in my idiocity?

My mistake, I pulled that version. It doesn't actually change anything from 1.6.5 (And there is nothing to fix)

If EVERYONE sees that, then everyone has the vanish.statusupdates permission. Install PermTest and have a normal user that you trust say /permtest vanish.statusupdates and then have them let you know if they see "has vanished" updates. :)

Thank you, I'll try that now and let you know the results!

EDIT: Worked perfectly, thank you, i didn't realise that permission would automatically be assigned to my groups.

It won't work for anyone other than me for some reason.

    Code:
        Admin:
            default: false
            info:
                prefix: '&6'
                suffix: ''
                build: true
            permissions:
            - vanish.vanish
            - vanish.nopickup
            - vanish.nofollow
            - vanish.preventincomingdamage
            - vanish.preventoutgoingdamage
My Admins should have access but when they type it in they receive no message, and nothing happens.

    hey awesome vanish plugin
but i am having problems with it, when i vanish all members of my server get a message that i have vanished and they can see me, i have given all users -vanish.* permission and moderators/admins permission vanish.standard
i have tested it with permtest, and it sayd normal users dont have it, so i dont know what is wrong

plu i tryed to delete the config file too but that didnt help

Maybe the "- vanish" line has actually given them it. Have a normal user say /permtest vanish.statusupdates

i made my self normal user and did /permtest vanish.statusupdates
it say "you do not have vanish.statusupdates"

Well, that makes little sense, as the plugin tests if the player has that permission before sending.

    i know i have permission note *
    then i tried /permtest *
and that gave me this message "you do not have *" so maybe permtest plugin is broken ?

and do you need more info on this bug with vanish ? or you could come on my server to see it ? ip is 184.82.17.25

Permtest checks what permissions you actually have. The * permission is a fake permission that your plugin uses to assign real permissions. Thus you won't be able to test for *.

I have the latest builds of everything and I've added a permission of "vanish.standard" to my moderators. However, only OPs can use the tool. I know I'm adding the permission right (I copied it, have done this a lot) so what could it be?

    @darkhelmet @Regios42

Download and install PermTest and have one of your mods say /permtest vanish.vanish

It checks to see if your perm manager has assigned permissions correctly.

    New version released. 1.6.8
Lets you add colors to your join/quit message (only the faked ones, obviously. It's for matching any existing colored join/quit)
    Version checking

That's something to take up with the permissions plugin guys. Sadly I can't give support on all configs because there's too many. My plugin is compatible with any permissions plugin that handles 'superperms' correctly. I assume it's some minor mistake in your config or that'd be a more noticeable bug with the plugin.

What exactly is SuperPerms? The Pex folks had us disable it because it was severely lagging our server.

SuperPerms is the permissions interface the Bukkit team designed to replace the old, outdated systems that older and abandoned plugins like Permissions 3 used. It's what plugins are now beginning to only support. I don't understand why they would have you disable that. If that truly is the case then you'll want to move to another permission plugin that can handle it.

You won't be able to use this plugin until you're running a modern permissions system, and PEX without superperms running isn't it.
