I just got an idea for private servers with whitelist. I thought about an invite system. How it can work: Every player will recieve 2 invites They can use them by typing /invite "nickname" A nickname will be added right to the whitelist immediatly Admins can give more invites to any player. [Additionally] Players can get more invites automatically depending on their playtime. I think it can solve problems with whitelist for some servers. It is good for not so big servers: friends will invite friends and it's cool. As for me, I hate that my forum is filled with "1 post accounts" only for whitelist topic.
I would also love a plugin that could do this. A feature where admins could check who invited who would also be good too.
and then you get a griefer who pretends to be nice, gets on the whitelist, invites his 2 griefer friends and now you have three griefers online. Oh! I forgot that the griefer friends can add their 2 griefer friends too! this doesn't solve a problem, it makes a problem easier to exploit.
I didn't say no one should make it, in theory its a nice idea. All I'm saying is that it isn't foolproof.
Ok, players can get there invites not immediatly but after set time of playing. Edit: Also, I think it should generate a code and send it to an email (that inviter should write instead of nick), then after joining the server, invited player should write this code in chat to "register" his nick and start playing.
like this idea not going to use it, cause I don't have a whitelist but cool. @Canownueasy if you want help with anything, I am your man
I like this idea. It definitely needs some working. Players should not get invites immediately, but after some time, playtime, logins or whatever. And yes the invite system needs to be done correctly.
