Hello, I'm wondering if I purchase a server with the following specs, how many players am I looking at hosting? Intel Xeon E3-1240 Quad Core Sandy Bridge - 3.7 gHz per core, Hyperthreaded 8GB DDR SDRAM(Upgradeable to 16GB DDR3) Linux Centos 5 6TB Bandwidth 100M Uplink Port (Upgradeable to Gigabit or Unmetered Port) Cpanel Anyone? A lot, depends on the plugins, easily 100+, just will have to watch memory usage as players join, but that depends on the plugins.
Awesome! This can likely host a ton of ppl. Do you already have a server and you're upgrading, or are you starting from scratch?
@obscure: I have one running 1.8.1 and the host is awesome but I was looking towards the future as I want to build a community. More or less, this will be implemented as my current server grows.
No.. I have it running original..it's really boring but I would rather have a server running 1.8.1 where people can connect.
its an experimental build, not suggested to use, but still playable imo =P i wouldnt suggest using it for 100+ players tho, i have only 8 players and its working fine on the latest build, a couple bugs here and there, but nothing unbearable all my plugins work too
if you need anyone with any sort of YML teaching/ help i can offer my help also i would love to help out on the server just let me know
