Area protection plugins.

I am looking for a new plugin to use for protecting structures thats easy to use for everyone on the server! I have used Factions for quite some time now and I have stuck with it... but it's not quite what I want.
I liked the safe zones in them which were a big help with server structures being protected that everyone uses, like the spawn area and shops etc!
There are however a lot of things I do not like about Factions, the way people repeatedly get people to join to get more claimable land, people leave and then they loose the land and it gets griefed is a major one for me. Admin side of things in factions is practically non existant when it comes to controlling individual factions that you are not in as well and this is awkward at times!
Im looking at plugins more aimed at economy and building in vast area's but friendly to use as well for everyone. It also needs to have admin abilities so we can get in there and control things as and when we need to!
Any suggestions would be great!

residence can be linked to an economy plugin, allows users to buy their own land and protect it as they wish so no need for an admin to get involved.

/res for the user to create and manage their own plots.
/resadmin for admins to use if they wish to change anything about the land a user created.
