Yay new computer time!!!

Thanks to my players, donations are rolling in. Time to go spend some of that to upgrade my computer.

Current computer: 16GB ddr3, 3.4ghz dual core amd, windows 7

New computer!!! What should I get?
I really want to go for the quad 3.4ghz, 32GB ddr3. Will need to upgrade my internet from 35mbps up and down to something higher.

Would really like to make this a BEAST! Let me know opinions. I have plenty of money to work with and will build it myself with a friend so price is as cheap as it gets. I'm not very computer savvy so let me know what you think is best for a big server. (150 players'ish or more)

 

For starters, save yourself a few hundred dollars and precious system resources and go with a Linux OS like CentOS. Also, a SSD (solid state hard drive) goes a long way and I don't care how amazing your SATAIII hard drive is, it just can't compete. You have enough RAM for a RAM disk, but if you are upgrading everything and you have a nice budget, an SSD is hands-down the best way to go.
