I've started a server using CraftBukkit, and I can connect perfectly fine to it from my local computer - but that's to be expected.

Anybody else, on the other hand, is unable to connect.
I've attempted to portforward but have had no success so I have resorted to use Hamachi.
(For those wondering, I have a Linksys WRT160N)
Even using Hamachi, with those connected to my network, they're still unable to connect to the server.

If anybody could give me a hand with getting this to work, I'd be extremely appreciative.

    OS: Windows 7, 64x

When using Hamachi, it assigns you a separate IP.

For example, my computer IP would be something along the lines of 70.777.777.7
And the Hamachi IP would be 5.227.56.77.

I don't think that's the problem, but thank you for the contribution. :]

I currently use Hamachi on my Server, it's running Bukkit and Biome Terrain Mod and works just fine, i've seen two things that mess with other player's connections to my server, the first one is not explicitly attaching the server to the hamachi address in the serverproperties.txt in your folder, try a custom port too, i run mine on a funky port but it works just fine now, the other problem is that sometimes the server simply won't Bind To Port, usually after a bad shutdown (ending the process from task manager or doing a hard shutdown of the machine). Try those two things and see if it works for you, if that doesn't then try removing any plugins or just running a vanilla server and see if any of those work for you.

for your case, i would see if you can connect to the other machines through Hamachi and see if there are any settings on your Linksys router that might be blocking that traffic.

    Goodluck

in the server.properties make sure you have ip=to your hamachi address. Also, I have noticed in my personal experience that people using hamachi drop frequently due to the tunnels breaking and then reforming, but like i said just what i have noticed

basically exactly what @Leonal said :p

I've changed that in the Server.properties previous to testing it with my friend and he couldn't connect, so I don't think it's a problem in regards to the files.

I think it might be my router and as Leonal said, it might be blocking traffic.
Does anybody know a way to increase traffic on a Linksys WRT160N?

Or how to open a port on it?
(I've tried by the ports never open.)

Yes, I have noticed the dropped users...

Your Hamachi IP is right next to the 'power' button above your name. You place it without :port# on the end. Leave the port listed in the server.properties file the way it is. You'll need to go to Hamachi and start a group that the other players join. You'll need to stay on the Hamachi page to approve them. Once everyone is on the same group, it will work fine, but like kjab says, expect some complaints from the users now and then. ;)

I've done all of what was said and people are still unable to connect.
As I said above, I can connect to it perfectly fine but when a friend tries, it will time-out due to the login taking too long.

I am using hamachi since i was unable to port forward... my friends were still unable to connect so i temporarily disabled my firewall and they were able to connect.

If its a problem with your router then you can try connecting to the web interface (http://*insert the IP of the router is*) and play around with settings there, probably under Applications and Gaming tab (assuming i'm looking at the correct model through Google Images). Another similar problem would be a Software Firewall and might require configuration on both of those ends.

Like @Masher8559 Said, look at your settings on your Firewall settings, if you have Norton or McAffee Antivirus, chances are those have their firewall enabled and blocking everything you want and allowing everything you don't (iknorite?), try disabling the firewall(s) first then see if your friends can connect, if they can after that, turn the firewall back on and try adding your server port to the exceptions to the list (configuring Windows Firewall is easy on Win7 cause it prompts you to allow things when they detect things trying to get through ports (if you are an administrator), the other software firewalls i haven't played around with and probably try to block everything by default). If i can figure anything else out on my own machine that might still cause this problem i'll post but its easy breaking things, at least we know it isn't a direct problem with hamachi or the MCServer.

Did you get them to add :25565 at the end? It's kinda a necessity for me, even tho i hear people saying just the IP will do.
