After doing some poking around I haven't seen any mods that change this; Would it be possible to create a plugin that disables the minimum sound in the nether? If I don't have the ghasts anywhere near me, I'd like to NOT be able to hear them.
sound is currently client-side, so it's not possible (yet, because notch has already prepared a server-side sound system which is currently not used)
