sorry if this is the wrong forum, but i made a bukkit server just yesterday, and nobody can get on it. I have hamachi and my friends joined but they still can't connect. I am the only person who can connect. i'm pretty sure that i have to port forward the server, but i'm not sure how (i need step by step instructions i have no idea how to do it)

You either port forward or setup hamachi. If hamachi isn't working for you, port forward is your answer.

    try disabling your firewall.

i dont want to get viruses on my computer, so is there a certain thing that i can disable on my firewall, and still keep it on?

99.9% of viruses are as a result of the user clicking something that they shouldn't have, and firewalls won't protect you from that. You're not the millionth visitor, you haven't won a new iPhone 5, your registry does not need cleaning, and the 'Nigerian Prince' does not want to offer you 30% of $1.4 billion for facilitating the transfer of said money into the US.

If you're REALLY that worried about it, I'd recommend reading up on the documentation for your firewall and figuring out how to poke a hole in it for the necessary port, or have it allow whatever protocol Hamachi uses for network communication.

Computer/virus noobs, i hate when someone thinks everything is going to give them a virus, My friend had their proxy settings wrong and couldnt connect to the internet, apparently it was a virus. Took me less than 30 seconds to find the problem and fix it.

Most problems people have are their own stupid fault. I have had no virus protection for 6 years, only viruses i have ever had are the ones that i have made :p

So you know this isnt directed at you, i just wanted to state that viruses arnt in every single thing on the internet.

rather than diabling your firewall, simply create an exception rule for java.exe and javaw.exe in the firewall

if it's that unlikely to get a virus, ill leave it off
by the way, could somebody get me a link to the original factions plugin? i cant find it

That's probably not the best solution as any java application can open a backdoor. Better to just open a port exception for TCP 25565.

its still more preferable to removing the firewall completely.
