Using WorldGuard and iConomy. Admin sets up a zone [zone1] in WorldGuard. Admin places a sign on the land like Line1:zone1 Line2:Costs: Line3:<amount> When a user punches the sign it will check to make sure the user has enough money. It will then (optionally) ask "are you sure you want to buy this land? use /confirm or /decline" upon typing /confirm will execute "/region addmember zone1 <name>" and remove the cost from their balance. There's no reason to need a brand new protection system for this. I imagine this would be relatively simple to create (I'm not a programmer, but it seems pretty basic)
I second this! However make it be addowner and not addmember, or have an option for the two. Also allow us to set a limit to the amount of regions they can own at a time.
Yea, I wasn't sure about addowner or addmember, I actually still use cuboid on hMod, but will be using worldguard for protection on bukkit.
There are 3-4 other posts out there saying the exact same thing (me included). Use the search bar before posting
Most of the posts out there lead down the path of making a new protection system, which all sorts of complicated options. I DID search before posting thank you. In my opinion this is a lot simpler and should be relatively easy to program in comparison.
Only two of those I found used a protection system, the others said exactly what this said. But whats the point of buying the plots if you can't do anything about them?, nobody will know their there, and everyone will be able to modify them. Specify the idea you got, I might be able to make it. If it's only saving the plots making them buyable and sellable.
Worldguard is an existing protection system. The plots would be set up using worldguard. Adding an owner to the plot and taking money when the sign is hit is all the plugin would have to do.
I'm quite sure that this is an upcoming worldguard feature. There already exists flags like "lot price" with description "not implemented yet" when you look at worldguard.
