Hey guys, I am a former hMod user and tonight i downloaded Bukkit for the first time to try it out. The server data and everything work fine. My issue is with the plugins. I downloaded a few from the Plugin list and placed the .jar files into the plugins folder. When i run the server i get an error the first time. I close the server and when i open the plugin folder again there are now folders named after all the .jar files. So i assume i should put the .jar files in those folders. I do, and restart the server. No errors. But, when i log in and test some stuff, none of the plugins are actually working. They also dont create any .properties files either. What am i doing wrong?
The plugins need to just be in the plugins folder. From the looks of things, Bukkit was creating a subfolder under the plugins folder named after each plugin (which appears to be removed in the latest build). Apparently these were plugin data folders, but most plugins already have a separate folder to put things in, if any. There have been many updates tonight, and some of the plugins have not been updated accordingly. Just a couple of hours ago, I got the (then) latest build and my plugins did not work. Within a few minutes, at least General was updated to match and it worked perfectly. Just make sure the plugin you are using is up to date with the build of the server you are using for now... from what I understand anyway.
