    Background:
    This plugin was originally inspired by TrainYourBrain's Vampire plugin. My server used and enjoyed Vampires, but we felt that more fun could be had by having multiple classes; each with their own unique abilities. After a lot of brainstorming, civilized debate, and shouting; we decided to start with an initial release of Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls and Priests.

    What's new in Version 2:
    Version 2 of Supernatural Players adds the classes of Demon and WitchHunter. Both classes are considered to be Ranged DPS type. Further details can now be found in the Classes list below. Also available is Multi-World support. To use this feature you need to set (multiword: true) in the config.yml. Then set supernatural.world.disabled for all permission groups in the worlds where you don't want the plugin to be active.

    • General Information:
      • Classes include Vampire, Werewolf, Ghoul, and Priest
      • All classes have active and passive abilities that depend on their current power level.
      • Each class has a slightly different method for gaining power (See class details below).
      • Using active abilities and dying both drain a player's power.
      • Each class has unique join and quit events (See class change details below).
      • Your current power/total power determines how well your passive abilities work!
      • In-game help is accessed by /sn help
      • WitchHunters' Kill List is randomly generated on server restarts. (Admin command /sn rmTarget can be used to remove players from the list)
    • Class Join/Leave Information:
      • Each class has a unique event required for joining or leaving.
      • Joining a Class:
        • Humans construct special Altars to convert to Vampires, starting with a solid Gold Block.
        • Humans sometimes convert to Werewolves when dying to wild wolves at night.
        • Pig Zombies sometimes have the ability to make humans undead rather than just dead.
        • Any human who shows proper devotion to the Church may become a Priest.
        • Non-Priest humans who can prove their Supernatural Hunting Abilities by slaying 3 different types of supernaturals without dying will be invited to the WitchHunters' Association.
        • Humans who enter the Nether covered in dead animal skins (leather armor) and sacrifice themselves to the Inferno will become Demonic.
      • Leaving a Class:
        • Vampires construct special Altars to regain their humanity, starting with a solid Lapis Block.
        • Werewolves must make themselves a Wolfbane potion, starting with an empty Bowl.
        • Priests merely have to insult the Church by offering Coal to the donations' Altar.
        • The Holy energy of the Church's Altar will sometimes cleanse a Ghoul and restore their humanity.
        • Demons who die in icy water while carrying snowballs will find the demonic fire in their blood cooled.
        • WitchHunters who exhibit extremely poor bow skills (kill themselves) will be removed from the Association.

    • Spell Details:
      • The term 'Supernatural' applies to Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls, and Demons only.
      • All spells will consume the item used to cast them.
      • Priest spells have a range of 20 blocks.
      • Banish will send the target player to the Banish Location set by server admins
      • Drain will remove 15% of the target's current power
      • Heal restores up to 5 hearts of health per cast
      • Cure will restore the target to Humanity (reverting them to Priesthood or making them merely Human) [Both the Priest and the target must be holding Flint for this spell to function]
      • Exorcise also restores the target to Humanity, but does not require the target's cooperation!
      • Teleport to Coven will return the Vampire to a location set by server admins
      • Demons' Snare spell lasts only 10 seconds.
      • Cycle through a WitchHunter's Arrow Types by Left-Clicking with a Bow
      • A WitchHunter's Power Arrow will cause the bow to go into 'cooldown' before you can fire again.
      • Triple Shot is intended to help WitchHunters keep a supply of arrows. If you do not want WitchHunters to gain arrows this way then remove Triple Shot from the config.yml
      • Vampires are immune to sun damage when wearing a Gold Helm
      • Ghouls' Unholy Bond ability allows them to share damage taken with their supernatural target as long as they are close by
      • Priests' Guardian Angel ability will protect their friend from death once

    Setup Steps:
    1. Download .zip file
    2. Unzip files and place in plugins/ folder
    3. Start Server
    4. Go to Church location and use /sn setChurch
    5. Go to Banish location and use /sn setBanish
    6. Create a WitchHunters' Hall by placing an Iron Door with a nearby sign using the term 'WitchHunter' (default)
    Additional Note:
    Most features in this plugin can be changed in the config.yml for balancing or to help prevent conflict with other plugins. However, be warned that improper changes to the config.yml can cause the plugin to fail entirely! Most servers should not have to make any changes to the default settings in order to successfully run Supernatural Players.

    I'm pretty sure both of these have been answered already somewhere in this thread, or in the main instructions, but here you go anyway.
    If you've got your Church and altar set up correctly, right-click the donations altar (diamond block by default), you'll be told what you need to donate. Go and get all the ingredients, then try again. You'll then become a Priest.

    When you're a Werewolf, grab a bowl and left-click, as above, the ingredients will literally be given to you. Get them all, then try left-clicking with the bowl again. This will 'make' the wolfbane potion and cure you (it's not an actual item, it just removes all the ingredients from your inventory, so only do it if you want to be cured).

    I don't think there's a command, just the permission "supernatural.admin.infinitepower" which you add to any player/group you want to have infinite power.
    As far as I've tested, you need to actually gain the power to start with though, it just doesn't go down when you use it.

    Something that needs to be fixed:

    The devil's fireballs go through godmode. I have members on my server killing admins.. Needs to be fixed immediately. Until it is the plugin is disabled..

    Exactly, and not only that, I think you've done a fantastic job at allowing us some mild "role-play" too. Not so much a story based, but if you think of the movies or comics and how a human can "turn" etc, it's just fun that you can switch classes. We also decided NOT to /give the items for building the alters, great choice. We're all human starting out and it takes time to "build" a religion. I started going for priest, went demon for obvious reasons (diamonds lol).



    I also love how it's compatible with more that most other RPG style mods. In other words, one of the other RPG mods we used stopped give experience if ChopTree was installed, because chopping a tree gave xp. I know this is going to have some conflicts with some things, but it's not so all inclusive that it breaks almost everything else... So, you pretty much keep with the "bukkit" ideals in doing that better than other RPG developers, even if they can't help it due to method of leveling (xp). I think leaving xp off was a great idea and I hope you never change that.

    Anyway, fantastic mod.

    To make a preist altar, just place a diamond block down and do /sn setChurch. Simple as that.

    @Matterz
    You should add hooks for BukkitContrib so each type of SuperNatural can get their own skin set if the server owner so decides. Also, could you possibly add some way to only allow members of one class access to a WorldGuard region? Idk if that's possible or not, but both of these sound great to me.

    Tell your admins to become demons and they'll be immune to all fire damage.

    I'll check into it though.

    The Grapple for the WitchHunter Wont work for me on the server when i have infinite and max power but it works for the owner of the server. It worked before but then randomly stopped. any help?

    THANK YOU! This would solve SO many problems.
    it would be really nice if the customization included being able to set restrictions on weapons and armor for certain classes, like restricting vamps to leather and such. Also, we need a human tank, such as paladin maybe? with either an ability or a passive that heals all humans within a certain area.

  16. Any chance of implenting areas where you wont loose power/cant gain power? Im using MobArena and Supernatural, When you die in the arena you loose alot of power, But you gain when you kill. Id rather have it so that you cant gain and wont loose when you die in that area.

    Other then that, Great plugin, We love it =)

    Vampiric regen doesn't actually apply itself to a character with extra health from heroes. Matterz, you will probably be the one who would have to patch for compatibility in this case, but I'm not sure.

    The tests were done without armor on sides, to establish base values of damage.
    The issue was not with Water Damage, or Werewolves better attack power, they should have this since it is only active at night, but that Ghouls have no way to harm archers who are kiting them or standing in water, and it seems that we both have the same view on that issue.
    The Werewolf damage problem was only presented because the kiting made it the only class that a Ghoul could fight, and then only at night. Fixing the kiting/bucket problem would restore the balance between them because then the Ghoul could get them during the day, the intended weak time for Werewolves, while the Werewolves can get the Ghouls at night.

    As a side note wouldn't a damage reduction change from 0.65 to 0.75 be increasing the armor, because real damage done to Ghoul would decrease from 0.35 to 0.25 repectively? Maybe that stats name is a bit misleading. If it is true that Ghouls are mega-powerful with armor on, then that damage reduction needs to go down a little, maybe damage reduction should only work when un-armored, or be nerfed at that time because the armor is being hit, not the Ghoul. Diamond armor probably should not be wearable by a Ghoul in any case, since that is the church's foundation-stone and logically should mean that diamonds are holy.

    All of those ideas sound really good to me and I would love to see them implemented, maybe Ghouls and Vampires can get a small health reward for killing players? It certainly would fit the mythos surrounding them.
    Also it is a bit peculiar that Priests cannot banish a Demon, shouldn't that be a standard skill for a holy man?
    It would certainly be fun to yell "go back to your maker!" then send them back to hell, for the priests.

    No the mod Mobdisguise doesnt require a client mod. i use it on my server nd werewolves can turn to wolves whenever i just thought itd be cool if u could make it where they turn to that automatically at night?

    You have a group of wolves following you, and your one too, how would they know your not npcs?

    and it is CONFIRMED. Mobdisguise uses no Client Mod. Its ALOT of fun to use haha.
     
  27. Hello, I'm reporting what may already be a known error. For some reasons every creature has complete fall damage reduction, even humans. Is there a way to turn that off?

    @Matterz people cant become priest/vamp on my server even with the required items
    Edit: admins can use the altars without problem normal players cant use them at all
