A plugin that lets you fly/hover without using blocks?

Hi everyone (TL;DR below),

My server is strictly a building server. All blocks break instantly, items are infinite, everyone can load items, so on and so forth. At the current time, we use the Magic Carpet plugin. This plugin works relatively well for flying - which we want because it can be time consuming to build scaffolding in order to work on suspended or high structures - but the blocks it creates can be rather bothersome when you're trying to build below yourself.

I have tried other flying plugins on our server, but they are always plugins that make you glide or jump very high/infinitely. We (my server and I) would like something that allows you complete control over your flight - essentially, something that lets you hover in place and without nearby obstructions, such as the glass from Magic Carpet (preferably without item costs - you can't build freely while being forced to hold a particular item!), so that we can build more effectively and with less hassle. Is there such a thing? Is such a thing possible?

I know that pure, unadultered free-flying exists in single player with Single Player Commands. Is it something that just isn't possible in SMP? I'm amazed no such plugin exists - at least, not that I have found.

If it doesn't exist, something along the lines of Magic Carpet that reasserts itself behind you or shrinks to one block just below you when you've stopped moving - as opposed to centering you on the carpet and/or extending blocks outward - would be nearly as good.

TL;DR:
My server is primarily a building one. We want a flying plugin that isn't gliding/dependent on blocks to stand on/infinite jumping. We want to be able to "hover" and remain stationary at any given Y coordinate. Anyone know of such a thing?

Won't that interfere with other servers, though? Some of us play on other servers, too, where modding is strictly forbidden. If I can just turn it off somehow when going to other servers, that would be fine I think.

 

I want this to, but don't want to mod the client. My computer freaks out when I try to download the zombie pack.

 

Flying as in "real" flying without laggs/glichtes and stuff isnt possible without a client mod.

 

Use Zombe's modpack, turn it on when your on your server, then turn it off when you go to other servers. Problem solved.

actualy there are alot of flying plugins atm.

Creativestick allows you to set transparent blocks(the glass) AND work from afar.
There's something called blink
And worldedit has a blink tool using the compass.
