[INACTIVE] NoCivilSpawns v1.4.7 - allow/deny mob spawns in areas + world specific opts +whitelist

    NoCivilSpawns:
    Version: v1.4.7
    Cancels spawning of creatures on trees, or inside player-made areas like CivilizedSpawns.

    WARNING: Because of Minecraft's Architecture and how it creates entity spawns, this plugin is highly discouraged for Production-Level servers and those which regularly run more than 15 users online at a time. Using NoCivilSpawns on high pop servers will most likely result in massive Tic degradation and an unstable server. You have been warned.

    Install:
    Download the NoCivilSpawns.jar and place it in your /plugins/ directory.

    Could slabs be added to the list that is checked? We use it for our castles because it looks nice.

    Also, for MonstersOnly, if I set it to true, then our farm animals would start spawning in our farms again?

    And, for the whitelist, Is there a list of monster aliases? Or would "whitelistMobs: Slime, Wolf" work?

    @Steelstiletto: to add whitelist mobs you would add something like this:

    Slabs are already checked.

    Also, it should be noted that I have been running NoCivilSpawns for awhile and it was working fine. I did not make any changes other then upgrading bukkit, craftbukkit, and my plugins with this last round of updates.

    Having an odd problem with mobs not spawning after the initial chunk creation. No errors in the logs.

    I couldn't see anything wrong in my config file but was wondering if I could get another set of eyes on it please?

    @killraven I can't help you if you post your config like that. either use code tags, or link it to a paste on pastebin.com or similar paste site that doesn't strip spaces.
     
  8. I apologize if this has already been suggested, but is it possible to get this configurable to cancel animal spawns as well?

    @Lunarius Haberdash - it already does that...

    @killraven - you have it setup to block all spawns except creatures on Oaerth . The monsters only option is just a quick way of telling the plugin to ignore non-hostile creatures. Are you saying you don't get any spawns at all, or that chickens etc are allso getting blocked?

    The only spawns I get are those happening when a new chunk is generated. After that nothing spawns at all.
    This is happening in chunks in places no one has built and having absolutely no player made blocks.
    Mobs used to spawn in all areas except those with player made blocks until I did the last update.

    I'm trying to get a test server up so I can remove everything except NoCivilSpawns to determine if another plugin is interfering with normal operations.

    Hello... With Heroes on the horizon of a release soon, I was wondering if there is a way to increase the amount of mobs / difficult of mobs that spawn for some/all regions? I want to make sure my players have plenty of monsters to kill...

    This really isn't the intention or within the scope of my plugin, and with how bukkit currently handles spawns, I probably wont be developing this much anymore as dynamic blocking of spawns is extremely resource intensive.

    I'm still having issues with spawns sliming in our farm on my server. It is lit up and made of cobblestone, and without the mod they spawn fine, but with the mod they don't spawn on cobblestone. They still spawn elsewhere though. I added slimes to the whitelist, but they still won't spawn.
