    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Is there any way to stop the censors from blocking words with them in it? Like 'glass' is censored because of what's contained in it, how can I fix that?

I found out it was a problem with my EssentialsChat, but I still don't know how to disable it. Even when EssentialsChat is removed the extra 'Noob' is still there. I have a feeling its Essentials itself.

Edit* When I remove HeroChat, everyone's prefix is [Noob].

You can force, that a space must before “ass”: \sass

Sorry? I didn't quite understand that, could you rephrase it?

Ehr? You want to censor only the word ass and not glass. I thought you need the regex to detect, that somebody wrote ass and not glass? To do this, this should test, if a space is in front the word. So it will censor “gl ass” but not “glass”. Actually you should use (^|\s)ass as the detecting regex so if the line starts with “ass” or there is a space in front of it.

Oh I sort of understand now, thanks for the help!

and what about something like "shitty", when I make it replaced by "dungy", it uses "dungty" becaus I have "shit" being replaced by "dung", what would I do for that one?

How would I make it so that it works with both "grass" and "assassin", like before and after?

    shit+y*
This should replace “shitty” with at least one t and at least no y with dung.
Depends. If you want to filter only the word ass you could use:
    (^|\s)ass(\s|\.|!|\?|$)
This should replace all ass. The “problem” could be word combinations like “asshole”. So then you have to add a specific censor entry or combine this into one.
    (^|\s)ass(\s|\.|!|\?|$|hole)

You could test it with this tester and check the case insensitive.

I'm really having a headache getting this to work with CraftIRC

Can someone please post some samples for the correct herochat and craftirc configs - i checked the wiki but it didn't mention what to put under 'game-to-IRC:' etc..

    I tried - channel
That was in a sample thread here but it didnt do anything for me

Then i thought maybe it meant the irc channel name so i tried that but it didnt work either

    Ideas?

Anyone know how to get rid of the [g] at the start of everyones chat?

  13. Offline

    Juze

@DThielke : Please test against latest RB.

@weresdrim : Remove all channel prefixes, such as [h] and [g]:

    Code:
        default-message-format: '[{nick}] {color.WHITE}{prefix}{player}{suffix}{color.WHITE}: '
Only remove tag from global chat ([g]) and leave other tags in, such as [h] (In your global channel config):

    Code:
            message-format: '{color.WHITE}{prefix}{player}{suffix}{color.WHITE}: '

Can you please add a more customizable {world} tag? What I mean by this is that if the world folder name is world_nether, I want to have an alias for it so it displays Nether in chat for exampe. Also an option to toggle showing of the {world} tag depending on the world.

This is the scenario I am trying to create.
I have world, world_nether and sky
I want people that are in world_nether to say Nether in the chat, and people in sky to say Sky. However I do not want people in the default world (world) to have world next to their name.

If you could implement this it would be awesome :)

    Mr_Oklahomie

Hi there, I understand that there are a lot of support related questions on this thread, so I will not expect this to be answered right away. With that said, I have a question regarding the chat color functionality of this plugin.

I am running the latest build of craftbukkit and am running minecraft 1.7.2. (not that this will really matter for the question but i figured it wouldn't hurt to mention that.). I have successfully configured the plugin and it is running flawlessly, I just have one minor question that I'm confused on. Embarrassing as it may be, I have no idea how to add color to different groups. I am purely wanting nothing but the groups name to hold a given color value that I assign it.

I have tried to do my research and I'm fairly certain that with permissions, you can customize the colors of the group names. Within permissions, I have assigned the groups a color value in the "prefix" line, but that has proven so far to do nothing. I am running the latest stable build of permissions. YAML formatting, (will soon be switching over to the SQL version of that, but I'm assuming that won't cause an issue with this problem.)

Given the situation and problem that I have, would someone be able to help me troubleshoot my group name color issue I am having?

I would greatly appreciate any help that one may have to offer.

It is my understanding that the Latest 3.x of Permissions, although okay, doesn't work with HeroChat in terms of using prefix and suffix's.

Thank you very much, if this was documented somewhere, sorry for my ignorance ^_^. With that said, is there a combination of other plugins that can be used alongside herochat to give the groups in game a name color?

    Use code-tags instead of quote-tags.

I have the same problem, if i change anything in the config file and reloads the server the config flie is restored to default.

Edit: I guess that big red text was too big and red for my eyes to see, also i jumped to assume it was a bug, since I'm not used to that kind of behavior from a plugin and it's config-file. Thank you and sorry.

Could you please extend the ChannelMessageEvent to make it useable not only for badword filters? Adding the player would already help alot ;) Maybe even extend the PlayerChatEvent?

...and prefixes work on "groups" other than Default?

I would simply be extatic if you could share your herochat and Permissions config.
