    Also, if the odd lvl-generating is effect of the evil npc's, then why not disable them (completely) and see what happens?

    My guess is those guys have a life aswell and while a broken loved plugin is no fun, i'm sure they are doing whatever they can to fix it asap.
    Just give them some time, it's not like it's their job to do this.

    I personally do look forward to new features in this plugin too as it makes them look more alife and act more versatile. :)

    i disagree with you dude xD
    new futures are awesome ..
    specially the wizard, trader and i bet the guard will be GREAT when it's fulley done :p
    i've great faith in this plugin's future .. just wait and watch ..
    i don't let users create npcs i just use it to manger my server using the wizard instead of old wired teleport gates and the tarders instead of pathetic command/sign shops :p (they have the best trading system .. real stuff man !!!)
    just wait and watch man :D
    you will see how great it's going to be .. we just have to support them :)

    I have no doubt that it will be great when it's done. But the thing is, I'd like a working plugin in the meantime. -_-
    I'm quite aware of that. All I'm suggesting is that they actually finish features before they release them instead of cramming every release full of half-complete features that ruin the whole plugin.

    Actually, they did say that certain features weren't ready. If you want just the finished stuff, you can don't use it.... if you do like experimenting, you do.
    The current problem might not be caused by a half-completed feature in the first place (not that i would know).

    I do understand your point of view, i've just been taught to not kick a given horse in the balls ;) (or how did that saying go again? :p )

    hello i have an issue
    My server got all laggie (i had 9 npc`s) i could not save so i needed to stop the server at once and when i opened again the server all of the npc`s dissapeared and now that i have the npc plugin out it works fine , can you explain to me what do i need to do to get rid of the lag ?.

    It's actually writen on the last few pages but okay.... The plugin has some issues which they are trying to fix currently.
    I think one of the developers said the fix was comming shortly so check this page again in the next few days. (quietly hoping today) I myself don't have an issue with the npc's not saving with 1.0.9b but there are reports of people who have the same issue.
    Disable the plugin till the update if the lag is too bad.

    Look, to be honest, there were some issues with 1.0.9. However, you must understand that this was not our fault. The release of 1.0.9 was forced by the release of Minecraft 1.0.7 - yes, it was unfinished, so we had to rush a release. And yes, there were problems. Please understand that we cannot work on Citizens 24 hours a day - as @Exanimo said, this is not our job. We are trying as hard as we can to fix the issues that come up during real world stress testing. Please be patient.
     
  11. I just tested the latest dev build from that dropbox link and I no longer have the "random chunk generation" bug and of course, no huge lag.

    CB 953, Cit 1.0.9b npc pants are invisible, they are wearing them(or at least take the item from my inventory), but they can't be seen.

    Not related to ^I think.. But 1.0.9b I did notice a odd issue only one so far and that was that the wizards teleport locations got lost during the conversion from 1.0.8h.

    Can you confirm this, do you still have my configs I sent ?

    MC 1.7.2 Cb 953, Cit:latest Test also using dynmap to check for chunks.

    after 30 mins of running I have no random chunks. 15 mins before logging in no chunks. Logged in and jumped around a bit, 15 mins later, still no new chunks.

Guys, I share your frustrations, but please don't let this thread get taken over by discouraging negative feedback - this is the ONLY mod of its kind and adds a whole entire new dimension to Minecraft and singlehandedly makes it into the MMO that Notch should have programmed in the first place.

    Fullwall and his team deserve a lot of credit and encouragement for working so hard on this, especially when they do it for free and Notch, who gets millions of dollars AND tons of fanboys, hasn't bothered to even make anything like this.

    Many of the things that have been said above have been shared by many of us admins in frustration, in private. But saying them in anger, in a public forum, is not the way to show Fullwall how much you want his plugin and how much you'll love it when its fixed. Instead, please offer any clues on what might be causing the reported bugs, and suggestions on what might improve the usability of the plugin.

    hooray! closing in on fixing the issue! I want to try this out but with all the hubbub surrounding random chunk generation I was avoiding it at first. /waits patiently for official fix

    More testing, Same server as above, created an NPC near the spawn, after 20 more mins of running, no random chunks.
    broke and placed some blocks when I made the NPC.

    If it makes a difference, I only placed the new jar in the plugins folder, and let it create all the config files itself.

    i sort of agree with you, i like the new features however it would be nice if the plugin didnt break each time it changes version and is needed to be fixed several times (a,b,c-h...ex).

    what would be nice is if the plugin was changed into a basic NPC API base plugin containing just the basic NPC's then alow for its own plugins/addons to be added to it. Make the traders, evil npc's, gaurds, wizards and reach other npc its own addon for the base NPC bukkit plugin
    this way people can not only make there own addons for this plugin but can choose what other official addons to download and install and not have to bother loading a bloated plugin with stuff they dont want or cant use.

    note: i dont want to be negative, im just saying it could be reworked better

    also i think there should be mysql support for config and storing of npc data

    Has existed for quite some time. Since 1.0.9 if I remember correctly.

    Also, can we have a way to disable the "evil" NPCs?
    If I understand the chunk issue correctly, it's their spawning that causes the problem.

    I am already able to save manually, hence the '/citizens save' but I am not able to have it automatically save what I've done, like before.

    I also had this problem but it happened with every last one of my NPCs at once. Now they are all clinging to the ceilings like spiderman. I tried /npc move but they just went back to the ceiling again.

    I can also confirm that removing an NPC, and reloading the server does NOT cause the npc to come back with the test build.
