I am interested in a plugin that will allow you to designate a specific area as a mine, perhaps tying into something like world edit. After an area has been designated, the admin would be able to set a period when the mine would be refilled, either by time or by percentage of blocks gone from mine. To avoid issues the plugin may need to teleport any players within a default (or definable) area to outside of the mine. To refill the area it would be nice to have the option to choose random block spawn (based on Minecraft block spawn default) or to allow admins to define them. I will make no attempt to pretend to know the first the about java, I did some VB.net and C in college but the 'Java for Dummies' is still in the bottom of my books to read pile. I appreciate anyone taking the time to even read this.
I know one of the popular "huge" servers got this. I don't know how thought. I made the same in hMod with WordEdit and signs that updated each hour via. CraftBook. Anyways, it need a updater and I miss one plugin to do that. You need to mix 3 plugins generally to do this. Would be awesome if someone made it into one plugin thought. You'll probably get it within bukkit is done~

I agree, I really want this as well. And I hope we can specify caves to do this automatically. We could always use a backup, but thats no fun doing manually. Maybe placing random valuable blocks as well, so everyone knows where the diamond is at all times. It would help if I sat out tnt traps somewhere as well, so when my landscape blows up. It will be restored with the trap again...
Yeah, multiple definable areas would be great. Also iConomy implementation would be nice, so you could charge x amount of monies for y amount of time to mine, like the Crater of Diamonds State Park. May be worth it, may not be.
