Then there's no need to use shitty hosts like that. They don't even give you access to simple things like SSH. Also webpanels = ewww

Sorry for being blunt, I just have strong opinions on the hundreds(maybe thousands) of ignorant server admins that have no idea how to run a server.

Wow, really? Some people don't want to screw around with SSH (myself included) and having a fully unmanaged server. In many cases it is unnecessary and time consuming. I could do it if I really wanted to, but honestly for the amount of users I have (and most people here), the benefits do not outweigh the time wasted.

Sure the web control panels don't let you do everything, yes there are times when SSH would be nice. But is it strictly necessary? No, for most of the "ignorant" server admins it is not.

To the OP. Xenonservers looks like a great company, and honestly, you probably don't need SSH and having it will usually cost you a lot more. Yes its nice but not strictly necessary.

Basically SSH allows root access to a linux server (generally, though people could mean root access to windows as well).

 

take a look at multiplay they offer managed servers and web control panel. although its not the most user friendly it does work.

 

use jestservers.com . fast reliable and FTP acces!

 

xenon has worked great for me, and the price is really good. Also, they are great at getting quick responses for support questions.
