I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

So LB totally failed to add the player. (My thought was, that the player was added, but LB didn't noticed that at first)
Did the playername contains special chars (all others that a-Z and 0-9)?
And does that affect only one player or all new?
    Nice :)

  4. Offline

    sfxworks

No special chars at all. All of which were a-z. No numbers or anything else. It only effected that one player though. No others. Not even other new ones.

So what are some recommended Configurations so that the blocks are logged asap? I'm trying to rollback something and i'm getting this msg "There are 19429 block in queue. Do yu want to process the queue before rollback?" then a yes and no.

I've never seen this before! so i was wondering if there are settings i can change to log blocks asap?

Also if i restart the server will those blocks in queue disappear? or be logged!!

    DiddiZ

Added that question in v1.00. It looks like the consumer works way slower with chest logging, so you have to adjust the consumer setting, resp. lowering delaybeweenruns and increasing timePerRun.
Hm, I most like caused that using a different connection to add the player. Reworked that part a bit and it should be fixed with next update.

K i changed the settings to 1 and 1000 it seems to log asap. But what about chests? its not logging chests like it is blocks! i have a double chest here, it shows how many they put in but that is the only chest.. i've tested this my self and it doesn't log anything. single or double chest.

    RazMaTaz

Can't say this is a bug, but with chest logging, if you put in something of the same that you take out.. it does the math and says in/out depending which is larger looks like. And this was done in the same setting (Inventory still open)

I am using ConvenientInventory if it matters. (client mod)

As to DJ411 post, chest logging is working for me, but only on the half of the large chest in which the item was placed/removed. The two halves show different information.

Ah, yes I am, guess I'll have to do without that for a little while.

  11. Offline

    DiddiZ

    did you enable chest logging?
It's a feature to compress the log :D
Year, you'll have to check both halfs for a griefer. That's not perfect, but doesn't affect rollbacks.

Why does this plugin still require lib/mysql-connector-java-bin.jar ?
CraftBukkit has built-in mysql connector afaik, you should look into it

  13. Offline

    sfxworks

It might be because mysql-connector-java-bin.jar is better than the build in one. Its honestly all a choice of the programmer.

  14. Offline

    DiddiZ

Afaik that only supports sqlite and h2 and it's kind of confusing.

Hey there, I'm have some problems with LogBlock.

While my server is running the Queue can get to extraordinarily high levels. My server Timed Out because I tried to reload the server from the console and the queue updated. There was more than 2 million events stored up in the queue! Is there anything I can do to set that on a timer or something to where the queue will update as soon as, say, 15 minutes passes by?

I'll get on the server account and post in the Config files I have.

What are the benefits of using the Bukkit Scheduler? I'm not sure of the direct benefits of using it, such as an ease on cpu usage or server wide lag. I don't want to disable something potentially helpful. On a similar note, is forceToProcessAtLeast: 2500 a good number? Higher, lower?

For me the commands stopped working after I upgraded to 1.01. /lb help does nothing. I have tried them with the new command syntax. They do not work with the old or new syntax. I get this error on the start of my server:

For the whole log make a worldedit selection containing the chest(s) and type "/lb writelogfile sel"
Benefits? Idk, but some stated lags without.
In lack of a high frequented server (mine has a peak of about 13 players) I can't say much about. Don't know your hardware. When it laggs the server, it's too high :D

    You are missing one table:
    - lb-main
    - lb-nether
    - lb-earth
    loggedWorlds:
    - world
    - world_nether
    - Earth

I should add that to the FAQ.
EDIT: It's alredy in the FAQ :D

Thanks much DiddiZ. I disabled it, as when we were still using 0.13 it ran fine without the scheduler with little to no extra lag.

And hey, if you like roleplaying, you should hop on our server at thekingdomsmc.com :p We usually have 30+ people on at peak hours.

I wish there were. I had to manually rebuild a pirate cove because of a World Edit error that caused a 30 x 30 sphere to be cut into the land :I

  30. I'm getting "Internal Error" and spam to the console on any type of rollback using CB 818, Permissions 2.7.4 and LogBlock 1.01. I'm using the new syntax of "lb rollback player <player> since <time> <m/h/d>.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I haven't had problems in the past, but maybe I've confused some of the new permissions/config.
