Alright guys, I'm currently running a server hosted by BeastNode and we decided to take the huge step and update to 1.9. I was a little skeptical about updating considering I was hearing stuff like you can lose data and stuff like that. Against that, I decided to update it anyway and made sure to backup the server. Everything went perfect, I swapped jar files and was ready to get on my server. I pop on and was happy to see that 1.9 had present on the server considering there were all those new blocks and stuff. But heres where the problem occurs...

I typed in chat to make sure all the rank prefixs and such were still there. Nope. I made sure to go into the console and op myself. Yet again the prefixes weren't present. just the default "<Zooply>" I tried again to /plugins but it just says "unknown command. Try /help for the list of commands." I was shocked to see this but then I simply went to the plugins directory and saw that all my plugins were still there. And on top of that, all the information I put in them was still there such as perms.

So at this point I'm like I know that the perms and plugins are still present just not in use on the server. I'm scratching my head at the thought that everything is there just not in use. Did I do something wrong?

I come to you guys because I drastically need your help to solve this problem! Please if you have any idea or concern don't hesitate to let me know down below. I'm could use all the ideas available at the moment!

@ExoNeon Congratulations. You most likely downloaded a vanilla server.

€: Have a look in your server log. If it starts with "Starting minecraft server version 1.9"
and no "This server is running CraftBukkit version ....", then I were right.
