Plugin Help [Essentials Chat] please help

Hello reader,

I am messing about in the essentials config file in order to set up chat and organize it by groups. For some reason, when I put the config file in the server, the "<>" are still around player names and nothing seems to have actually been affected by the essentials chat config. I am setting up my groups via group manager.

Any help would be appreciated!

 

Ah, I have made this mistake in the past as well. In front of every group setup like you have, type two (2) more spaces. Also, in the future, please post your config in pastebin. Thanks.

I added 2 spaces in front of everything, and it still has the annoying '<>' and it seems essentials chat has done nothing. I will paste the entire config file, this is getting really annoying

You've been told wrong, you don't need those two extra spaces. "group-formats" is indented with two spaces, and the next level (villager, admin, owner, etc.) should have two more than that (4 total), not 4 more, which it has right now (6 total).
