Essentials Sign Error

Console doesn't give any errors
The [buy] doesn't turn blue
I've tried this with other signs too: sell, free, info, none work
If you need it, Color and Magic work

Try reinstalling the jar file or clear the config and let it generate a new one then edit it.

 

You can't leave the other lines blank...
Should be like this
Line 1: [Buy]
Line 2: Amount
Line 3: Item ID/name
Line 4: Price

an example could be

[Buy]
32
Wool
$6000

I tried that too, it isn't working.

 

You say that console doesn't give you any errors, yet say there's an error when you interact with a sign. What is that error?

 

I thought it gave an error in console because there was a PlayerInteractEvent error but it wasn't for the sign, I found it was on something else when I tested the [Buy] again. There is no error, sorry. It just makes the sign as it would any other sign.

EDIT: Sorry about double posting, idk how to fix it now

 

Try going in to server.properties and changing spawn-protection value to 0.

Do you have the correct Essentials for your server version?

1.8 or higher, get Essentials here: https://hub.spigotmc.org/jenkins/job/Spigot-Essentials/

I have Essentials-2.x-SNAPSHOT, so the 1.8 version
The server's version is 1.8

 

Mojang changed the way signs work and the Spigot version of Essentials has not re-added essentials signs.

 

Completely untrue.. I use Essentials signs on my 1.8 server.

 

So, I've tried redownloading the .jar, tried redownloading the config and enabling the signs, still nothing.

Also, when I don't touch the config, ( I delete it and let it create a new one ), it lets me use color but not the [buy] [sell] [weather] etc.

 

You'd need to remove only the # signs from infront of the options under enabledSigns: in your Essentials config.yml.

Also are you using Wolfram? That looks like the font from it
