Essentials Help: how to remove tools when first spawned?

Everytime a new player enters my bukkit server, they spawn with stone tools, ie: stone pickaxe, sword, etc. As this is PvP I need this removed. What can i do?

A simmer thread instructs me to and I quote,

"This is default behavior for a default essentials install.
In the Essentials config.yml there is a section called "Essentials Spawn / New Players". It's the last section of the config.yml file near the bottom. In this section there is an option kit: under newbies:
Code (Text): # Do we want to give users anything on first join? Set to '' to disable
# This kit will be given regardless of cost, and permissions.
#kit: '' kit: tools As it says in the comment change the line "kit: tools" to "kit: ''"That is with 2 ' (single quotes in stead of the double quote). New players now spawn without tools."

The problem is, I don't have this config

 

you would be the only person ever to have a working essentials and no config.yml file for it...
Even old files get replaced with new config file formats for it..

 

One of my friends had this problem. He had the "Kit Adder Plugin" I believe and it messed up the config, do you have the kit adder plugin?

 

I would much rather see his entire essentials config file that he has...
