Ya, know, I remember Dinnerbone mentioning he was going to update Bukkit, (*cough cough https://twitter.com/dinnerbone/status/502381093731831808)

But we haven't seen any updates, progress, or any other notifications or signs that anything is happening. What do you guys think?

  2. @Pocketkid2 Nope, he's not made any visible progress and at this point there's no reason to suspect he ever will.

Then he probably would be done by now. Or at least showed something.

As far as I'm aware, most of the once-popular Bukkit alternatives have either died in terms of progress, and any attempts people claimed to make about reviving Bukkit have utterly failed. I haven't seen much activity with Trident, haven't heard much about Sponge lately, and I'm still looking out for a 1.8.4 build from Spigot. I'm open to information on that last one, by the way.

That includes CraftBukkit 1.8.4 (and CB 1.8.3 also has the other fixes).

  9. @Gamecube762 It's not the official sites/forums for Trident. It's just a regular old programming - related forum...

  10. I know for a fact Trident are doing work again, I am even going to be helping out. I still think Trident is the way to go, I know Sponge has a build out but I still believe a lot in Trident. (Also Trident has a smaller team so they can't exactly push builds out as fast)

@bwfcwalshy I agree, I've just been childishly impatient for Trident to come out. :p

@Gamecube762 Thanks for the updates. SpongeAPI is looking pretty nice. Also, I kinda slipped back there when I mentioned Spigot; I specifically meant Spigot CB, but evidently they're updating at the same rate.

Addressing the parent post... I think dinnerbone's statement was pre-DMCA.
After the DMCA, he could no longer update the code.

I'm guessing Mojang is focusing on having the long rumored API in version 1.9 vs working on legally clouded code that can't be distributed in binary form.

The new Lego world may be a challenge for them. Minecraft has been out a long time now.
