Do new ores generate on an old map?

    If I run a Minecraft 1.7.9 craftbukkit server and change over to 1.8 will my world from 1.7.9 generate all the new ores and entities from 1.8?

    They will only regenerate in new chunks. So they will not be in spots the you have already been in.

    If a new world is not generated, it stays the same as it is.
