Run.bat closes immediately

I have windows 8 and am trying to download bukkit 1.7.9. When I open run.bat, it closes immediately and doesn't create any files. I tried fixing the Java path, but don't know what this means:
In the Edit windows, modify PATHby adding the location of the class to the value forPATH. If you do not have the itemPATH, you may select to add a new variable and addPATHas the name and the location of the class as the value.

You are too late, CraftBukkit 1.7.9 is no more available. Sorry.

 

I just downloaded it from https://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/bukkit/ ... What do you mean?

 

That is Bukkit, you use that to make plugins. You want CraftBukkit which is the server that allows you to use Bukkit plugins. CraftBukkit is no longer available.
