a way to distinguish different factions?

hi im currently running a survival server which has multiple factions in a pvp war, and i was wondering whether there is a visual way to make their affiliations known through server side plugins maybe? i have tried using different armors however people can take them off, making it pointless.

is it possible to have coloured capes for certain groups? or maybe different coloured overhead names?

well you could use permissions and hero Chat . adding Coloured prefixes and make your own groups

 

that is possible but then they will have to speak to be recognised... i was hoping for some sort of visual difference to the character themselves which would be easily identifiable by other players

hm... its not exactly what i was looking for... but it will do
i would have preferred if it was a helmet or something like that which would not vary based on texture packs but oh well...
