    It all depends on how many players, worlds, plugins, entities, ext you want on your server.

    If the plugin lists exceeds your chat view without opening chat, then its a bit to much. A lot of plugins can have features that multiple plugins has. Remove the ones you don't need or barely use.

    In theory, you should use this formula for working out how many players, where p = players and r = ram.

    p = r(10)

    Worlds should be worked out using a system such as this, where p = players, r = ram and w = worlds

    w= p(r*2)/8

    And plugins should be no more than this; x = plugins

    x = p+w

    This is the formulae I have found work best, message me with your modifications :D

    AdmiralMoose that formula is complete nonsense. Its completely overgeneralising and completely ignores the fact that a server needs MUCH more than just RAM.

    Necrodoom It works for me, if it doesn't work for you than you could just say so and not insult me publicly.

    Sounds like a lot. Check your /tps when you join on your own what is it? People using mob spawners will be for sure to make it low.

    AdmiralMoose that's like saying that with $200 you can buy 10 of a store products, when the prices of a product can vary wildly between 5000-1$. This, while ignoring taxes, electrical usage, etc.

    Necrodoom As I said, it works for me. If it doesn't work for you, thats fine. You are entitled to your opinion, as am I to mine.

    Also, Necrodoom, please note that in my first post, I clearly stated --MESSAGE ME-- with any modifications, not publicly insult me and deliberately try to brush aside my opinion, as if it doesn't matter to anyone. Before you undoubtedly reply with more useless comments, please consider that while something may not work for you, it might work for another. Things that may be crap to you may be great for me.

  10. AdmiralMoose From my observation, Necrodoom wasn't trying to be insulting. He has a point that your formula isn't really backed up with any sources. Where are you obtaining these statistics from? As said, your formula only takes into consideration the RAM, when it's often not the bottleneck of the situation. World and plugin sizes vary greatly. 1 plugin can just as easily use as much memory as 10 of them.

    AdmiralMoose You cant say "it may work for others" when your formula doesnt even show actual data.

    I can easily say "you can run 50 plugins, 2 players and 7 worlds per 1 GB RAM", then, following your logic, i could say that it may not work for you, but it may work for others, however it doesnt work that way, because your formula is baseless and is not logically true. You cant base a formula on statistics.

    AdamQpzm Necrodoom All I am saying is, this formula works well for me, as I said I don't mind ultimately if you don't like it, all I would like is if you accepted my opinion and didn't try to push it down with your logic. All I am saying is that I find it works, if you don't, then just say so, don't endlessly repeat how utterly stupid it is to you, every time I reply. That is all.

  13. AdmiralMoose At no point did I say or imply that it was stupid, I merely asked for something to backup your formula. It's all well and good having and opinion, but formulas are based on logic. Opinion based formulas never work out too well.
