Server MOTD Help?

Hi guys, I'd like my server MOTD to include the player's name who's viewing it, like this:

I'd also like it to change when a player refreshes his server list, like this:



If it's a plugin, can I have a link? If it's some way to do it in server.properties, could you give me an example?

It's definitely a plugin that processes ServerListPingEvent but as for whether that plugin is public and if so where to find it, that's a different story. You cannot do any of this magic with the server.properties file.

As for how it knows your username, I don't think that's sent in the packets at all so they must be caching your player name with your IP address and looking it up again later. In other words, if you never connected to the server before they wouldn't have your username and thus could not show you any MOTDs containing it.

yep thats exactly how the above plugin works. You have to have joined previously in order for it to display your username.
