With the recent move to http://dl.bukkit.org, we're happy to announce a change to our building system that people have been wanting for a while now: recommended builds. The way the new system will work is that every week or so we'll be picking a CraftBukkit build and marking it as recommended so that plugin developers have an idea of what build they should be up to date with.

Recommended versions will be what we consider a "stable" revision of CraftBukkit. This means that we expect plugin developers to support the latest Recommended version at the very least. Plugin developers then also have the option of developing and releasing for the latest builds to help us test and mold the API, but we cannot guarantee any form of stability with development builds.

Since we only just recently deployed the Recommended builds system, things will not work as we planned: it is highly likely plugin developers will not be caught up for a few days but we hope this change will provide our community with a more stable "release" cycle to work with.

The latest recommended build can always be found here:
    http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/list/rb/

With this link always pointing to the latest Recommended build download:
    http://cbukk.it/craftbukkit.jar

And here's an RSS feed for the Recommended Builds system that you can subscribe to for notifications:
    http://ci.bukkit.org/other/latest_recommended.rss

At the moment we have chosen to keep development builds available to the general public, but this may be changing in the future.

I think everyone needs to just chill out. If you've got servers, you should have mentioned not to update to all the regulars beforehand, and you yourself shouldn't have if you had. Just because within 6 hours of release of the new MC update, there isn't a new Bukkit update, doesn't mean they're not working on it. Just chill out, and be patient. They are more than likely hard at work, I think everyone needs to stop and think about how much work these guys are putting into this project just for your satisfaction!

  13. The 1.5 update is a major update for bukkit.
    New items.
    New blocks.
    New packet system.
    Rain, Snow...etc...

Stay on 1.4 Servers/Clients until the next bukkit update

Bad packet errors like that are when people who have a different version client attempt to connect to your server.

I.E my server is running 1.4, and 1.5 clients that join will get bounced and throw a bad packet error on my server console.

    New Recommended Build: #733.

This build is the first Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.5_02 compatibility.

There was a server update to 1.5_02, but the client stayed at 1.5_01.

    New Recommended Build: #739

This new build addresses some remaining issues that we didn't notice when we were testing the previous RB, like the server freezing when lightning strikes a painting.

There are no breaks in this build so all plugins should work fine.

We've discovered and issue with #739 that we're addressing immediately.

Please use #737 in the meantime if you want to update.

    New Recommended Build: #740

Addresses the block lag in the last RB. Sorry about that guys! I'm always moving when I dig so I didn't notice it in testing!

but why does the cmd window close now, when you type: stop?
When the server is spamming the same error always, how do you want to copy it, when you arent able to type stop

I'm pretty sure that's all depending on how you start bukkit/the console. And it's not on-topic here.

    drevil55

That's a terminal setting and completely separate from bukkit. Also, you might try the pause/break key to lock the console so you can copy errors.

  29. Screenshot it ;)

And also, that's what the server log is for of course.

Thank you, sorry for not being on-topic. Thought it was a new "feature" of the new build.
The more I'm pretty sure, I didn't change the Startup .bat. Pretty strange...
    Thank you anyways :)
