My friends and I can't connect to my server. I've already port forwarded (using cmd to check ipv4 address, then going into router and making a new service), disabled my firewall, and checked if it was only that one server (I created a new vanilla server to see if I could connect). I can only connect using localhost. Please help. Thanks
What are you giving your friend you ipv or your actual ip? Try with out the port also or with the port
I share my IP that I get from this website to my friends. I just tried adding :25565 to the end of my IP, it didn't change anything, sadly. Thanks for replying.
I don't know how your router works, but you port forwarded the port 25565, right? Also, try disabling the firewall that's built into your router. My router has that and I had to do that to let the connections through.
Make sure you port forwarded the port 25565. and make sure you're using the port 25565 in the server.properties file and make sure that there isn't an IP in the 'server-ip:' section. (also I don't recommend that you disable your firewall.)
Yup, I port forwarded to port 25565, and I left my IP option blank. Here's my server.properties yml file. Thanks for replying.
I really don't see anything wrong. Can you post your console when you and your friends connect? The console could really help me find out what's going on. You can try downloading this port checker tool to see if the port is open. If you're hosting a server for you and your friends only. I suggest you use Hamachi as it's much easier and a lot safer. Though, your friends will need to download hamachi. If you want to use Hamachi, I can teach you how to host a Hamachi server. But, if you're trying to host a public server, this wouldn't be your best option.
Nothing shows up as my friends and I try to connect to my server. Here's my console. Here's a screenshot when I try to join the server. EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
I think you need to increase the RAM you're using. If you want, you can Skype me so I can help you much faster and better. (Skype: riceordie)
I believe I have a good amount of RAM set to my server. I set it to 2GB, just enough for a few friends to play on my server.
If none of the above didn't, then it has to be because the port isn't port forwarded correctly. Can you test if the port is open to absolutely make sure (the port tool I referred works the best since some online port checkers aren't as accurate) that the port is open.
