Okay, so I've gone through the MCProHosting forums for their advice on how to get this top notch plugin to work between my server and website. They said that any problems with the plug-in or not on their site and are most likely with the webhosters. The web interface for it displays that he connection cannot be established. On my server I'm able to kick and ban people, and I guess it's being stored in the database linked through MCProHosting. So this is my second stop in trying to figure out what the problem is with this, and then I'll go to GoDaddy and see what else I can do what they could do about it. Does anybody have any clue what could be going on?

  2. To be sure you have created a db table right?
    connected it up and all!

The plugin is supposed to create the database tables themselves. I checked the database on MCPH and the only tables that were in there were for another logging plugin.

Then where is it banning? If the tables aren't there, then you need to find where they are.

If you need more info let me know.

Any suggestions... I've run out of ideas and the plugin developer doesn't seem to want to help.

You're using GoDaddy... They are probably blocking the connection.

So you're saying the web interface actually uses an outgoing connection to check the database? And if that's the case, I'm assuming that I would have to ask them to unblock a port, which they don't do on shared hosting. I don't have money for a VPS which is silly anyways for just this (if that's the case)... Is there something else going on? I know I'm asking a lot for help but I would like to have this running properly on my server so I don't have to go back and ban people over again when its fixed. The plugin people don't seem to want to help with what seems like a simple issue.

I don't like bumping threads but I don't know where else to get help.

Someone has the answer, this shouldn't be that hard of a request for help!

For an update, I moved the MySQL host to a free MySQL hosting service and the plugin successfully created the tables there, presumably because the MCProHosting database was either using the wrong port or refuses the connection. Yet in the web interface I keep getting the Can't connect to database error and it's starting to frustrate me because in the end it seems like if I want to use it I'll have to pay $30/mo for a VPS to allow connection.

It's been about a week now and I have all these bans in this database, but nobody including the plugin's developer wants to help. Not sure how to fix it.
