I am using the Dev Build (1.7.9) and I am using a mac, and have a Asus RT-N66U Router. I have done everything according to tutorials and guides but my friends still can't connect (anyone on my Wi-Fi can connect). I tried using canyouseeme.org but it keeps coming up with connection timed out. I made a working Bukkit Server (that people could connect to) last year but it was on a different mac. I need help as I don't know why no one can connect and I need to get it up as soon as possible, thanks.

when you host your server with your home pc, sometimes even when you have port forwarded, players can't join.
if you are using mac, I suggest you to use PortMap, you don't even have to worry about router, just open PortMap and open the port.

I have tried using portmap and gave the IP at the top to my friends, it still didn't work. Is there anything I need to change in order for PortMap to work?

I have tried using this portforwarding guide but it still didn't work; I never set up the static IP because im pretty sure my IP is already static, is there any guide or tool that would let me find if my IP is static.

Hey Davewolax, do you have any clue why players might not be able to join, and what did you mean by sometimes people can't connect to a Desktop/Home PC; is there anything I need to change or configure for it to work on a desktop?

Olahhalo2012 As I said, PortMap works perfect. it should work unless your router or your computer has a firewall enabled and won't let any connections.

I have a firewall enabled on the router but not on my Mac Settings, how do I know if my firewall is blocking it? And if it is how would I fix it? Thanks

I don't know if router is blocking it or not. you have you figure it out.
I use PortMap and it works without port forwarding in router or do any adjusting. keep in mind some ISP doesn't allow some ports and they might block them for some reasons.

Screenshots of how you port-forwarded would be appreciated...
