I'm playing on my smp server, using craftbukkit #689, so that MIGHT be the cause, but I wonder, have anybody else had any wooden structures or forests burnt down thanks to lightning?

    My forest is gone :

It may be a vanilla bug - try running the vanilla MC server and let us know.

Should check the ignite and burning events against the wetness level of a block...

So I'm not the only one...
Last night a new player on my server got his wooden house burnt down.

I also have a great deal of accumulating lag in certain areas where I've built alot. The server gets overload messages for god knows what reason. Maybe that's why the fires don't get put out?

Yes burning does happen on rain, Notch tested badly again ;)
Use my PlgColdLightning to prevent lightning from burning down cities (see signature)
