    Hey bukkit,

I am having some trouble with WorldEdit on my server.
Whenever I do the simpelest possible edit (like 200 blocks or so)
The server just seems not to like it, and it takes forever to replace the blocks.
    Or, the server just crashes.
I don't know where it is going wrong, I am running on a dev build of craftbukkit 1.7.2 and have used both world edit 5.6 and 5.6.1 to rule out a version problem.
The server uses 4gb of ram and is running on SSD.
I do not get any errors in my console.

    Please help me.

    - Wesley

If the server crashes I get this message, and I can just join right after I hit ''back''.

I have been doing some tests, here are the results:
    1x1 edit = no problem
    2x2 edit = no problem
3x3 edit = I can see entities freeze for 0,5 seconds
4x4 edit = I can see entities freeze for 0,5 seconds
    etc.
    11x11 edit = takes about 3 seconds
    15x15 edit = takes about 7 seconds
    20x20 edit =takes about 9 seconds
    25x25 edit = takes about 18 seconds
    30x30 edit = takes about 25 seconds

Well, and when I size it up just a little bit more the server just crashes and I get that error message.
But I can join right after.

Also, I have tried switching some .jars I have used spigot for example, and other dev builds

if I'm reading this correctly (anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) it seems that you simply don't have enough RAM/CPU power to be doing large WE edits. It may simply be your client not liking it, though. what other mods do you have installed? are all 4GB actually allocated to the server? does it use up a lot of RAM/CPU even without worldedit? you have to take into account: 200 blocks may not seem like much, but the vanilla limit on pistons is there for a reason. the error you posted is quite simple: the server stopped talking to your client, so your client assumed the connection is dead, and removed you from the server.
Have you previously used worldedit successfully on the server? can you use WE in singleplayer without any issues?

Is there anything else that could be straining the server? (plugins, etc)

Well, You say you have plenty of RAM, but it's acting like the server can't handle it. I suggest you try out the plugin called "ASyncWorldEdit". I CANNOT give you a link because it was removed from bukkit plugins, and therefore I can not advertise it on the forums, but you should be able to find it.

Basically it makes it where whenever you paste something it pastes it in lines. Now, This can take some time if you're pasting LARGE builds(Longest I've ever waited was 2 minutes)but smaller builds it should barely effect, and it will greatly decrease the server strain.

MESSAGE TO ALL FORUM MODS: If I am in the wrong for posting this please tell me. I think I am allowed to tell him about that plugin, but I know it was removed from bukkit so I am not positive. Please let me know ;)
