Help please! People cant connect to my server. I gave them the ip on WhatIsMyIp.com but this is what it says

java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information: /(myip):25565

What does that mean and I did check my firewall, put no ip in the server proportions, and this is what my server properties looks like:

Alright so in settings it appears the port is 25564 it should be 25565. Another thing is you will need to port forward on your router. There are plenty of videos explaining how to port forward out there already. As well has port forwarding tools out there for windows. So after you think you successfully port forwarding go to checkip.org to find your ip address that is what your friends will need to connect. They shouldn't have to add :25565 at the end of the ip unless it was something different that you set it to in the server.properties. Good luck!

I had already port forwarded and I changed the port. I already had the ip from the site and it still showed the same message. I rechecked the firewall and nothing is wrong, got anything else Codygreen3 or anyone. Thank you

Ok sorry for the late reply, i think you should try a port forwarding diagnostic tool to see if you can find the problem.

Port 25565 which is the default port for minecraft or what ever port your server is configured to if you changed it.

Try running server on Linux machine with open ports on firewall and router + check if people can join on ur IP because some ISP don't allow others to host SERVERS at their home

What i think is wrong is that my internet speed isn't that good.

While this is true, they can only block so many common ports. They can't detect a server running on a port that they are unaware of, they can't stop servers from being run since we can freely change the port at any time.

Your internet speed being slow has nothing to do with a port not being able to open. Are you absolutely sure your port is actually open?

Start your server and change port 80 to 25565 at this website:

if your running windows you will have to either make an exception in that firewall or turn the windows firewall off as well as an antivirus might be blocking it
