I requested this once before but I don't think I really explained it well enough, so second shot, if this doesn't get any support I suppose I'll just stop trying :/ Basically what I need (and think a load of other server hosters would use) is a plugin that allows you to set certain areas (or worlds) as pvp=true, right now there are a ton of plugins that will make safe zones, but my server requires the unexplored map to be safe, and have an arena (or pvp world) set up. War is quite close, but War is actually a structured pvp plugin with teams and points... I just want bare-bones vanilla pvp, but only in a certain area. TL;DR= A plugin that sets pvp to true inside a certain area, and pvp to false everywhere else please .
WorldGuard can do this with zones or whatever they're called. Regions, that's right.. It's something like /region set <region name> pvp on .. or something along those lines. Check out sk89q's wiki for more information. http://wiki.sk89q.com/
Just doublechecked and tested; to have ONLY one region set as pvp I'd have to select the entire map as a region and turn it to pvp=false, otherwise the config file says pvp=true and pvp will be allowed everywhere... and setting one region to pvp=true is overruled by the config file... I've spent about half an hour meddling with config files for worldguard and I think I've read every doc on the wiki... but I can't see a way to make it so pvp is off in non-region areas without using the minecraft default config file, which sets pvp to off with no way to overide it. :/
I could do this with worldguard before. They updated the config so I cant make pvp zones with the plugin.
Ah so is that why everyone tells me to use Worldguard then? All I know is I believe I have tried every available plugin, I even tried writing my own and when that failed I tried to edit War... a complete lack of Java knowledge made that pretty fruitless... Well, we'll see if this gets replies overnight... if not I spose I'll just have to accept a server with no pvp... will probably lose a few players if I tell em the pvp update isn't coming though :/
