I have portforwarded my Minecraft Server on the port 25565 on TCP/UDP with my Xfinity Gateway. When I use the open port checker tools on sites it says 25565 is open. On my Minecraft I can only connect to 10.0.0.5 or localhost. When I obtain my IP from IPChicken and put it on minecraft it says "cannot reach server" Please help!

I will assume you're trying to connect to your Bukkit server that is on the same network as the workstation you're trying to connect from, and that your internal private address for your Bukkit server is 10.0.0.5?

    10.0.0.5 is my IPV4 adress.

Ok...lets start at the beginning here. You're on a LAN in one location. Do you have bukkit and Minecraft running on the same machine?

Yes, I run my server and play Minecraft on the same PC.

Ok. Now, you've forwarded incoming connections on port 25565 from an external network(the Internet), to 10.0.0.5 on port 25565?

    Wait what?

You have setup port forwarding on your router to forward port 25565 to the IP address of 10.0.0.5 on port 25565?

I cannot connect to it on Minecraft with my IP from IPCHICKEN I can only from localhost but when I go on a port checker site it says it is open.

Not really sure what IPCHICKEN is, but if you're trying to connect to your router's external IP address from inside the network, it's probably not going to work...most routers don't deal well with that.

You will need to use the internal IP or loopback(127.0.0.1/localhost). Everyone outside your LAN will need to use the router's external IP(what you get from www.whatismyipaddress.com, assuming you're using NAT).

Ip Chicken is the same as whatismyipadress. I have used the IP given from the site to connect but I can not and my friends cant. When I check on canyouseeme.com if my port is open it says it is but no one can connect except me using my localhost.

Ok...You not being able to loop back using your router's external IP is normal.

People outside your network not being able to connect isn't normal. Can you paste the forwarding rule you set up on your router to here?

    Name: Minecraft
    Service Type: TCP/UDP
    Start & End Port: 25565

If that's all you've got, you haven't setup the port forwarding properly. I'm not familiar with the GUI on your router though. Try going to portforward.com and see if they have your router listed.
