How many players could an OVH (dedicated) 16G server handle?
I'll locate about 8GB ram to the MineCraft server.
I'm thinking about using spigot aswell.

Unfortunately, we don't have any idea how "efficient" spigot is, regardless if it claims to be or not, therefore, you'll get no accurate answers from anyone but Spigot users. You'd be best off asking there.

But if I run regular bukkit?

Hello iSidle and anyone else looking towards he OVH range. From experience that cpu can hold 200 players with ease if the right settings on the Spigot config is set accordingly. Little things like viewdistance and chunk ticks make a huge difference to weather it will work smooth or "dodgy" also amount of plugins aswell. In reality that 30 odd £ it is very worth it in terms of what you get for your buck.

However last time i checked all their stock was sold out so better luck next time.

The current expectations are that they will be restocked within this or next month. And it's just about 21 pounds, not 30. However, thanks for your reply and this definitely helped to decide whether or not to buy it.

Ye, i recommend you get them quick because they keep being whipped up very fast and the majority of them gets sold on reseller plans anyway. I'll pm you when its restocked for that cheap option. I also heard they do free DDOS protection as whole for all server together so something like 460gbps, I cannot sure it though because i haven’t had chance for it yet and there is also a premium version for it where you pick what it specializes in i think so like game servers, voice etc.

I think you can easily hold between 100 - 150 players, but you need to know where they come from.
however splitting servers is not recommend, ive tried to setup a halo server and a minecraft but then you will mentoin small lag spikes.

My server is generally EU targeted so that's no problem, I'm only going to host a Counter-Strike Source server next to it.
