Hi! I was wondering if someone could make a plugin to make it where when you join, it would say the date (and time (optional)) without having to change the motd in essentials config every day. It would require a config so you can change the wording. (ex: Welcome to ExampleCraft! It is 1/1/11!)
You should lookup the definition of spam before accusing someone of it. You asked for a plugin that displays the date when joining, correct? There is no need for one, when you can just look at the date that's on your computer screen, as I demonstrated.
I am making an MOTD plugin currently that I can include this into. It will be developed in https://github.com/daboross/PluginRequest-DatedMOTD. MysteryManX I know this is a really pointless idea, but that doesn't stop someone from making it . He wanted it for some reason I assume.
daboross first of all, thank you for responding. Ok, so, essentials already lets me costomize the motd. but not the date. so i might just have both running at the same time. one with the only the date, and essentials with the rest of the motd. thanks. MysteryManX ok i see your point now. but some people hide the taskbar. EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
Also note that the date might not be accurate for everyone, depending on their time zone, compared to the time zone of the server.
MysteryManX ok cedeel true. but in the motd i will say what time zone it is in. EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
Maybe metron80 wants all of his players to know the date and time for where he is? So there is one official time; where the server is running. That way nobody will be confused on "When will you be on again?" "9 am" "It is 9 am" "No, it is 6 am for me" Now with that kind of plugin, all of the players will have 1 time to follow. MysteryManX
