So... owning a server for quite some time now... I've ran into a rather annoying problem that happens every once in a great while..... when your server relies on a certain plugin and then that person no longer supports it and it no longer works.... seriously this is annoying... at least maybe post the source code or something so if someone wants to continue it they can.... >.< anyone agree this is an annoying problem?

The plugin makes do it FREE of charge, how can you get angry and think you have some right? They did it for FREE, do you know how many hours go into it? All Java programs are basically open source :L Especially dev bukkit, as if you obscuate it; then the staff have a more difficult job of checking it! So it basically is open source.

Or you could grab the latest version and decompile it. Takes some more time to make things work, but should do the job. Always look at the licence before doing this, though.
Besides, it's not like plugin devs owe you an update.

Lolmewn : I sometime did that when the plugin is no longer support and TONS of people ask for it to continue to update i PM the dev to ask permissions to continue and the result, Ignored T_T

  5. Waiting for confirmation of allowance of the old dev can be problematic. In the past Bukkit staff have stated that they prefer the original project to be continued or at least allowance by the former auther in case a new project is too similar, which of course needs explicit statements by the authot of the original plugin.

Not sure if there are any updates of policy with timing constraints or so. Could use a policy for authors that do /vanish.
