World Edit - /hsphere crashes me, any suggestions why?

Hello there,
So I am trying to make a decent border size for a spawn and when I do the command /hsphere glass 300 300 it crashes my server. The server ram is 4 GB. So any suggestions on how to not make it crash when I run this command? Do I need to dedicate more ram? Or is their a easier way to make a border limit for a survival games?

A 300 radius is a gigantic hollow sphere. (actually won't be a sphere because of the height limit, so you should consider a hollow cylinder instead) That'll take a long time to generate. Are you sure it's crashing and not just taking a long time? But in any case, if you're going to do anything larger than your view distance, you might be better off using MCEdit. Or instead of having a block barrier, just use a plugin like WorldBorder.

 

Isnt there the "WorldEdit redux" branch? Best ask on their support facility (irc?) to have a version that executes commands split up in steps to not crash the server.

 

Redux branch is experimental and currently disabled.
