    Summary:
    Commands
/asr create (Creates the shooting range when your looking at it)
/asr remove (removes the shooting range with out removing blocks)

Name of plugin: ASR (Automated Shooting Range)

    Permissions:
    asr.admin

    Category: RolePlay - Games

    End of Summary.

I would like to have a plugin to allow me to create a automated shooting range.

Basically you stand on a pressure plate to register yourself, shoot a arrow at the sign which has a moving target, if you hit, a ding sounds and you win a prize. The arrow is removed and the game continues.

The target would move across signs and would look like
    o
    /|\
    /\
The target would move from right to left at different speeds, at times there may be a better reward offered so the little guy would change color and be faster.

The shooting range could be turned on by standing on one of several different pressure plates.

You need to stand on the pressure plate to start the range and for you to have access to the reward(s)

    What reward? Money!
$1 for the black slow guys
$2 for the slightly faster blue guys
$5 for the orange guys that sometimes teleport back a sign
$10 for the red guys that zip by super fast and have a tendency to "kill" any of the other targets still on the signs

    ASR Requirements:

Must be 6 signs in a row ------
Must have at least 1 pressure plate within 10 blocks in front of it to activate the game and register your self.

There may be up to 6 players, each must stand on a pressure plate. and each plate must be directly across from there sign.

    Commands for ASR:
/asr create (must be looking at the shooting range) This plays several different targets across the signs to show it's worked.
/asr remove (must be looking at the shooting range) removes the game with out removing blocks

Tobias2189 I kind of el oh el'd at the 'slow black guys' comment, guess I'm just messed up in the head. :)

I'll admit it kinda got me when I was typing it but it's in no way meant to mean anything. =\

Tobias2189 I know hah. This is a pretty neat idea, wonder how it would be lag wise though.

I don't think it should lag to much, I've seen other plugins use signs in the same fashion, not a game but running characters all over signs, but making a game out of it might be different than just doing it occasionally. But there are Slot Machines that change blocks rapidly and they don't seem to lag so idk haha

    I've updated this slightly.

Have you looked into doing this with redstone? I know a player on my server managed to have an awesome shooting range, then gave the person a diamond or something depending on the score :)

drtshock That's true, I didn't even think about that. Even more so with 1.5 around the corner which has a scoreboard and all that, you could probably do this with redstone and pistons that change where the target is. I just don't know how to make it keep track of if you got the arrow to the right place, maybe wood pressure plates? Do those activate if an item is less then a block above it?

Not sure about doing that, I'd be willing to do that though I would not be able to build such a thing unless I had a step by step guide lol. Not in anyway that good with redstone! But I will look into that. Thanks for the idea! If anyone is interested I would more than be happy to use a plugin ^_^ lol.

Wow I had no idea they were adding a scoreboard! Thats very cool! Gotta go find this now haha.

Tobias2189 Yeah it's pretty epic. As far as I've seen, you can make it keep track of anything, even how many times you've died lol.
