I run a 24/7 server and people cant always connect..... They can connect sometimes but hardly ever... Anyone have any fixes? MrTomTomHD
biggnft19 Few things. What message do they receive when denied connection to the server? Also, are you hosting this via your own network, or via a paid host?
Its not that they are denied access. On the multiplayer page before you join a server it shows my server and it says "Can't reach server" but my server is always running. I had the same problem when i went on vacation and i tried to get on my server but it said "Can't reach server". And yes i am running this server on my own network. xDeeKay
Home hosting does not always work. I have done this for a year. Bandwidth restrictions on homes makes it impossible to have a server of about 15 users online. I had cable internet through time warner and it is shared connections throughout the neighborhood. All you can do is attempt to connect and hope it works. If you have an extra $30 to $40 every month, you can host on a VPS.
I have Comcast internet. Everything i was told by the comcast tech support said that it should still work. And Comcast has the fastest upload speed so there is no lag on my server. People can only connect at certain times.
they have a thing called "constant guard" when i looked at their homepage,could that interfere with your server in any way? i would call them,and see if they are blocking any traffic or ports. biggnft19
