minecraft server world wont save

so im just wondering whats going on here i had updated my server to 1.4.4 and played on it for a few hours and got off when i came back i noticed that the world never saved but my character did i had everything in my invo from when i logged off but everything i did to the world (building my house) was set back to what it was hours ago so i thought maybe it was the 1.4.4 build so i went back to 1.4.2 which was what i was using before and had no problems with the world saving but now even on 1.4.2 server my world still doesnt save but my character will. can someone please tell me how to fix this its annoying spending hours doing something to have all that work erased and yes i am new to hosting servers and all this (im a noob)

 

Where and how are you hosting it?
Did you properly stop the server with a stop command? And if so, post the logs of the shut-down.
Start-up logs wouldn't hurt, either. We need some info here.

 

I'm having this same exact issue, I'm not sure if I should start my own thread or continue here, so I'll just bump this one. I am also losing hours of work randomly, and this is the second time it has happened. This is happening to worlds only and not characters, and is causing item duplications and such. This is happening even though I am running a save-all command every 15 minutes using a script.

 

All I Did to stop it from doing what you had said was deleting the nolagg plugin
